Meet Our Pastor

Fr. Robert Lyons, MDiv, BCC, CPES
Pastor
Though born in California and considering St. Petersburg, Florida his hometown, Father Rob has been living the Indiana life since he began kindergarten. Feeling a calling from those days, he pursued theological training during and after high school, and was ordained to the priesthood in 1997.
Father Rob has spent much of his ministry serving in health care chaplaincy. Today, he serves as the Manager of the Eskenazi Health Center for Spiritual Care & Education, overseeing spiritual care activities throughout the Eskenazi Health system. In addition to health care work, Father Rob has served in several parish ministries over the years.

In addition to his ministry at Saint Mary's and in hospital chaplaincy, he currently serves as Canon to the Ordinary for the Bishop of the American Catholic Communities, and is a member of the board certification group with the Association of Certified Christian Chaplains. He also serves as a member of the faculty of the Center for Mind-Body Medicine.
Father Rob and his wife Kristen live in Greenwood, together with their three children.

A student of Church History and Liturgy, Father Rob spends much time reading and teaching on those topics. In his spare time he enjoys science fiction, particularly the Star Trek. He is an avid hiker, backpacker, and nature photographer, and carries on a love/hate relationship with model starships.
